Aim
 

The aim of this project is to establish the information sharing needs of Macao Government agencies, and prescribe information sharing strategies, organization and technical infrastructure based on the outcome of research on state-of-the-art in the area of information sharing.

 
 
Objectives
 

The objectives for the project include:

O1) Capture information requirements - legal, organizational and technical, of government agencies and other government stakeholders;

O2) Prescribe plausible goals for a MSAR information sharing initiative based on analysis of needs;

O3) Provide a suitable information sharing policy for MSAR Government;

O4) Deploy a technical infrastructure (Messaging Gateway) in a pilot agency in line with the developed information sharing policy prescribed in O3;

O5) Develop the capacities of government agencies in the area of information sharing, and

O6) Disseminate project outcomes through the e-Macao and UNU-IIST-EGOV portals.

 
Deliverables
 

The following outputs will be produced by the project:

D1) Information Sharing Policy for MSAR Government - Recommendations of critical factors and steps in developing a comprehensive government information sharing program in Macao, guided by the outcomes of a survey on government information sharing initiatives and the local conditions of Macao;

D2) Message Gateway Deployment - Message Gateway implementation by UNU in a selected agency as a pilot implementation of an information sharing initiative;

D3) Courseware on Information Sharing in Government - Annotated slides on government information sharing practices to be administered in a training program;

D4) Project Website - Pages on the e-Macao Portal comprehensively describing the project, its outputs, and providing information on other information sharing activities in Macao.
